home made - dear gods, I love the internets. I've spun one very small skein, but need to finish my swap and my mom's bday presents before I start hardcore on spinning. This was a very cool project to do.

^ that is the site I used, as it was the most clear and had the best directions (for me, at any rate). There was one posted here on Craftster as well, which is what inspired me to make my own. It took more time to gather the parts than it did to put it together - and some fine tuning with the parts and pieces once it was together took a bit.

it really is - because i'm new to spinning, it doesn't have enough ooomph to get away from me - and I like being able to have a lot of control over the wheel. eventually i'll save up for a foot treadle but i want to be using this for a while until i become better at spinning
