Since we are doing a divination class in the harry potter craftalong http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=408525.0 . I decided do do a divination tea set with tea leaves that have to do with good and bad omens. The tea pot has a painting of Hogwarts that I have always loved.  I used glass enamel paint to paint on them and set them in the oven and plan on putting a clear coat for durability. On one side of the lid it says Hogwarts on the other side it says Harry Potter.

Since I already made a mug set with the logos of each house on it http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=371959.msg4376351#msg4376351 I thought a more simple design of the names of each house and the handles in the house colors would be nice.

Now inside each cup is a tea leaves in good and bad omen shapes.
Gryffindor has a grim-death,

Ravenclaw has a skull-danger in your path,

 Hufflepuff has acorns-windfall

, and Sytherin has a sun-great happiness.

Here is a pic of the whole set together

I can't wait to start using it.  I might need to have a HP party just to serve tea with it.  Grin
C&C welcome.

Amazing job on painting the castle.

Love the idea of permanent tea leaves in the bottoms of the cups, I'd also like to know what you used to make them food-safe. All the enamel paints I've seen say that you're not supposed to use them on any parts that actually touch food or your mouth. I'd especially be worried since these are gonna be sitting at the bottom of a puddle of hot liquid for an extended amount of time.

For right now the cups with permanent leaves im looking into different glazes possibly a food grade silicone sealant. Since i was able to get 8 mugs for 40cents a piece i figured the one set will be for decoration.
