IANAQ, you know Smiley but as long as you can drop the feed dogs I don't see why not.  I'm not going to try to machine sew that quilt top, but it is queen sized and would be a nightmare. I don't really like the long-arm quilting templates (or the price tag on having it sent out for long-arm service), hence the hand quilting of doooooom....

I know, but really is there anything that you can't do PW??  I don't even think I could piece a top as large as you did on your machine.  It is a bummer that renting a quilting machine is so expensive.  I bet your hand quilted one will be great!  If I ever had that kind of patience I'd make a traditional Hawaiian quilt.  Smiley

I'm fine with losing the extra points, too.

atsuko, I don't think I've ever seen a traditional Hawaiian quilt, but now I want one. Smiley

The missionaries brought quilting to the islands.  The Hawaiians made it their own by making patterns based on fruits, leaves, etc. One thing that they never put on their quilts are human forms.  My friend and her hubby made one and it took nearly a year of handquilting.

Lovely quilt top, pw.  I have faith in you that you will stitch right along and have that lovely top quilted in no time!

atsuko, quilting on your machine is certainly possible, but you might want to invest in either a walking foot or a free motion foot if you don't already have one.  I love my walking foot.  It helps all your layers move together.

Hi A2K!  I do have a walking foot.  What I lack is experience and skill.  LOL.  I'll have to give it a try.  I love the idea of free motion quilting and would love to try it!

atusko, there is only one way to get experience and skill..... Smiley

l2e, yes, I intend to use it as a bed quilt, if it ever gets finished that is. I need to get a quilting hoop, unless I can borrow one from my mother.
