Aah! It's been forever since I've done an ATC without a monster. Wish me luck.
You could re-interpret Dirty Dancing with monsters!

I'm going to claim kwality570 for mixed media.
This is my 4th claim; 3 sent, 0 received.
I live in California, U.S. Nudity, non-flat cards, progressive politics (lower-case p), adult themes/language and religion are fine with me, but please no horror/gore, demons/ghouls/dark-arts, or mean-spirited humor.
Here are a few things I'm actively collecting, none of which is a requirement:
- well-dressed and dignified animals
- queer/lgbt-friendly/-affirmative
- an altered playing card - with number and suit left visible on the card - with female nudity created primarily by women--celebrating the female form in all its shapes/colors/sizes, as something more than a commodity for men's viewing pleasure, unlike traditional nudie playing cards. Explore your own issues re nudity and the body, and bring them into your art as much or as little as you want to.
- game piece/card for Craftster board game, Running With Scissors! Such as an homage to your favorite art/craft supply or kind of project (see
farmgirljane's awesome creation for explanation; it doesn't have to look like hers; do whatever you want with it)
- world religions
And here are other styles, attributes and themes I would be
equally enthralled with, in no order:
- art nouveau
- opal/iridescent/metallic/sparkly
- mental illness/health and the pursuit of wellbeing
- vintage/old-fashioned games or toys
- imagined voyages, magical adventures in this realm or others, steampunk grandiosity (or verbosity)
- absurdity/nonsense, along the lines of Monty Python (doesn’t have to be MP-specific)
- tiki/tropical/hawaiiana
- chakras, meditation, yoga, herbalism, spirituality, that kind of thing
- weather or geological/meteorological/tidal phenomena
- tea
- Frida Kahlo and/or her art
- illustration of something one would inherit from a deceased eccentric artist
- aesthetics of India, SE Asia, or Morocco
- Latin America
- saucy/succulent wild women of the past, present, or imagination
- "the creative process"
- unusual or extinct animals
- layered mixed media (especially if a sewing machine is used)
- gypsy, bohemian, vagabondage, wanderlust, taking an unconventional path in life, etc.
- interactive, moving or pop-up elements
- Gustav Klimt-inspired
- an oriental/persian rug design
- amusement park or playground rides of yesteryear
- real pressed plants incorporated into the ATC
- your self-portrait, created
in the style of your favorite artist
- a Creativity Muse (human or nonhuman), Art Spirit, or a Fairy Godmother of Art/Craft
- a creative representation/interpretation of one of the 4 elements...belly dancers? kawaii? crocheted? typography? anything!
- abstract card made with woodburning/pyrography or other woodwork, beadwork, punch-needle, knitting, tatting, weaving, crochet, or metal- stamping/embossing
- if you were to create your own personal tarot deck, what characters/archetypes would you put in it? Show me one.
Thanks!
