Personal Messages-Removing from Inbox Once Label is Applied or Folders

NEW & IMPROVED SUGGESTION: To have PMs removed from Inbox once label is applied.  Okay, I figured out I'm a bit of a dork, but even with this new found power of removing Inbox label.  I would either like PMs removed from my Inbox when I apply a label, or I would like this option to be able to remove PMs from my Inbox once I apply a label (just in case someone is opposed to that idea).  That way, I don't have to go through and manually remove the inbox label from tons of PMs.  Of course, I would understand if this is not possible and may cause headaches for PMs one would want 2 labels.  That's it from me; I'll stop now....I'm feeling   But  THANK YOU AGAIN FOR READING!

Okay, here's my wish suggestion...

I would love real folders for Personal Messages.  I use the labels, but my inbox is always so full.  And labeling as I go can still be a daunting task, especially when I receive a mass of them at one time (like now I'm getting swap organizer related PMs, swap partner PMs, craftalong PMs, and general chat PMs)...and I never fail to miss one PM while labeling.

I would love to have the ability to move my PMs to different folders (like in my Yahoo mail).  For example, I would be able to create a folder for say "Organizer," "Craftalong," and "Swaps."  When I'm in my inbox, I can move a PM to one of those folders, and that PM would now appear in my folder and not my inbox....does that make any sense....I hope so.

So that's my wish.  I don't know if it is feasible.  But I just had to ask.

Did you know you can remove it from the Inbox (after you've moved it to a label -- otherwise it just deletes it)?  Or do you mean that you automatically want it to remove it from the Inbox once you apply your label?

So you can remove the inbox label....big aha moment...I'm such an idiot

See, the first time I used the labels I thought it was like the folders on Yahoo mail where you can create a folder and the message is sent to that folder, not appearing in your main inbox anymore.  Since the PMs were still there, I thought copies were sent to the label tab, and deleted/removed them from my main inbox, which then deleted them from my label tab as well.  I never tried it again because I was afraid of deleting info....but I think I got it.  Now to go clean up my inbox.

Already done!  Check this out:

Okay, here's the basics...

• Go to your Personal Messages
• Under Preferences, click on Manage Labels
• From here you can add, edit and delete the labels used in your personal message center.  It's pretty self-explanatory.

To apply labels...

• Go to your Inbox
• From here you can label individually or in bulk:
  >>To label in bulk - at the top of the screen, select the check boxes to the right of the messages you'd like to apply your label.  From the "Label Selected" dropdown menu, select the label you'd like to apply.
  >>To label individually - go to a particular message and select the dropdown menu.

Labelling places a copy of the message into the label folder you apply to it.  If you'd like to remove the copy from your Inbox, follow the same steps from the list above, but select the "Remove Label Inbox" from the dropdown menu.

Note:  If no other labels are applied to a message and you remove the Inbox label, then you will delete the message entirely.

this is sort of related.. could the labels function be extended to work in the Outbox as well?
that would be handy for doing multiple swap rounds, using the previous round's questionnaire.
