I recently made these for fiddlegirl8, for the Mini Art Quilt 5 Swap. She added poppies, at the last minute, to her list of themes and I just knew I had to do something with poppies. We both had a pillow on our wists with a white panel with embroidered poppies, surrounded by gray. So I dug around in my stash and found some poppy fabric and combined it with the pillow design to come up with this:



And because it ended up looking a bit like a placemat, I decided to make a mug rug as my extra (dimensions are about 5"x8" - accidently cut off the top binding in the photo):



I'm so glad that she liked them!!

This is all kinds of really cool, i am beginning to like the idea of trying my first mini quilt , Some of these pieces that are done are truely beautiful....Yours is gorgeous.
