Ooooo Ahhhh!!

I made a few of these, but, silly me, only took a picture of the one I sent to lindyv321.  Oh well, I plan on making more of these, anyhow!  I sent one to my best friend, and gave another to my SIL.

Someone gave my mom a bag of crafting stuff that she gave to me, and inside was a hardback copy of Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix.  Well, I already own all my Harry Potter books in hardback, and it was in the bag of crafting supplies, so I decided to desecrate the sucker!  I used some of the pages for tags, and the title pages became bookmarks!

I started by cropping the page down to fit just the image and title.  I cut off some of the words on the top of the page, as well, to make a little smaller than the entire page.  I mod podged the image onto a some old cardboard.  I distressed the edges using Tim Holtz's Walnut Distressing Ink Pad and then a black paint dabber.  I put dots around the edges with my Elmer's Painters paint pens.  I also added some color to the black and white image using water colors.

I will definitely be making more these, and probably save them for Christmas as stocking stuffers!

Thanks for looking!

I love this idea!  Simple, yet profound.  I'm always seeing these hardback books at thrift stores.
