Gir Hoop! (IMG Heavyish)

I made this for my sister's birthday in April.   

Its Gir!   He is a favorite of hers.   Basically, I found a coloring page of him online, re-sized it, used my light box to trace the image onto white fabric, and stitched away.   He was a pretty quick stitch-up, about 4 hours or so.

This is how I finished the back.   I used a running stitch along the edge of the excess fabric and pulled it all in on itself.   Basically, it looked like a rosette inside the hoop.   Then I used some Aileen's fabric glue and smeared it on the edge of the "rosette" and hoop.  While the glue was still wet, I dropped the hoop backside down on some hounds tooth scrapbooking paper.  After the glue dried, I trimmed off the excess paper and viola!   All done! 

 


Oh, I also pained the hoop with a sharpie paint marker and added a lime green glittery ribbon to the edge.
