I picked up a bag of free jeans from next to a Salvo bin and decided they would make a perfect doormat!
I cut them into strips, plaited the strips and then sewed them together. It took me about 7 months as it was so boring.
It feels great underfoot and seems to be lasting well so far.

Love!!  Did you hand sew or machine sew it together? How big is it?  It looks great and should last awhile  Grin

Looks great and well worth the effort! Looks also nice to walk barefoot on! Wish I had the patience to make one.

I love braided rugs, and jeans are the best material to use I think! They can take quite a beating!

Cute! Hope you know you can get massive fines for taking clothes from near Salvo bins!

I sewed it all together by hand, it is about a metre across. I wanted it to cover most of the width of the hallway, it needn't have been quite so big.

Here in Canberra they are always complaining about the costs of taking items left outside the bins to the dump, so I figured I'm saving the Salvos some money!

I too love to recycle denim. And I'm sure the end result was worth the effort.  Well done.
