After seeing lots of these 'pictures' on Craftster, last summer I decided to give it a try - I used the cheapest crayons I could find, glued them to the board, put it in the sun to melt and ended up with an epic failure!

Then I saw posts where people had melted them with a hair dryer and I figured that was the way to go.  I purchased all the supplies but only today did I get around to doing anything with them.

This time I used Crayola crayons, hot glued them to the board and got out my hair dryer.  It took awhile for them to start melting and next thing I know the color is splatting everywhere but I persisted and when it looked good to me, I shut off the hair dryer.  Within a minute it had hardened and I decided I really liked it!  I suppose I could have kept going until the dripping wax reached the bottom but I like this effect better.

I plan to try it again later in the summer using Crayola and letting it melt in the sun, just to see how that works.

This is beautiful! I love how the colors sprayed. I think this is my favorite of all the ones I have seen.
