Wow! It's great to be away for a few days and find all this great stuff in the Gallery already. I came home to a wonderful package from Mellisaurus, and I was hoping to get some photos up tonight. But it needs better lighting, so I'll do it in the morning.

Great stuff so far. Some really wonderful pages, and I especially like the hand-carved stamps. Too bad the phials of oils didn't survive the trip, though. It must have been messy and intense - I've found that even if they travel intact, it's impossible to keep the perfume from leaching out of the bottle. I once mailed a bottle of essential oil blend to my mother and, although the bottle didn't leak, the postman still remarked on how good the package smelled!

Hope Witchhippie's package has arrived, as USPS claims. Sometimes those delivery reports are a bit premature!

I got this great BOS package from Mellisaurus. She was a bit worried about the problem of What Men Like, and had her boyfriend sign off on everything before mailing it. This was his favourite part:

The button-up crochet pouch contains most of the BOS stuff, and arrived amid a flurry of tissue petals. (For a Midsummery touch, apparently. Wink )

Inside the pouch, the fun begins. I love the fact that she's chosen a classic Canadian literature collection to alter. There are three great hand-carved stamps that I can't wait to use. (I just realized the one in the lower right is upside down - it's a yurt!)

Inside the cover are some recycled book paper and a some painted pages, mostly on a Midsummer theme. (See the link with the paper petals?) And note the little packet marked "Do not throw me out!"

More great pages. The Fungus Faeries are brilliant, and I love the Rosemary page. I think I'll press a sprig of the plant to add to it.

A page done on brown paper. This is a piece about midsummer crowns and a really delicious-sounding tea recipe.

And here's the most exciting and surprising part - several pages painted with acrylic on heavy canvas. This is powerful stuff!

The pages aren't sewn in, but rather tied with a single string across the fold. There are five or six strings built in, so several signatures of pages can be added. This is a unique and clever thing!

You're still wondering what was in that little packet that begged not to be thrown out, aren't you?

Moon inchies! Melissa says this is her favourite part, and I have to agree.

And finally, three larger pen and chalk drawings on brown paper. I especially like the one of the fruit.

Thanks for a great package, Melissa! You needn't have worried about it being man-suitable at all!

I know! It's terrible being away from home and not being able to get your hands on it right away, isn't it?

I received a wonderful package from WUlf the other day.
First he made me this BOS. I love it!!!!!!!!!
I can’t stop looking at how well he did the leather binding and carving.

He even made subject dividers for inside.

He even made me this stencil to use:

He even made me a set of astrology stamps to use in my BOS

And some extras:

Thanks again Wulf, I can’t wait to fill my BOS!!
