Hi all,
I have a little guy who is going to be ring bearer in my cousin's upcoming wedding. she isn't having the wedding party do a super formal, matchy-match look, she said all he needs to wear is a white shirt, grey/yellow tie, and black suit pants. The shirt and tie are no problem, but I've just tried his suit pants on him and they don't fit (also, they're pin striped and she prefers solid)! I know I can stitch him up a cute pair of flat front pants, but I'm not entirely sure what fabrics I should be looking into for the occasion....just a rayon blend suiting?

He's 2 and just as busy/wiggly/curious/active as you'd expect a 2 year old to be. I usually just work with cottons & comfy fabrics, especially when making clothes for him and honestly, I'd prefer they be something he can wear for more than just the wedding so if there are any other acceptable, more wearable options than a rayon suiting blend I would so appreciate the advice! Oh, and the wedding is September 1st.

Thank you so much!

What about a plain black twill? A tightly woven twill is quite sturdy compared to most suit fabrics, I should think. And if you include an adjustable elastic waistband, he'll have the chance to wear them for quite some time!
