Hi everyone!
Lately, I have been inspired by Pilarfarmer, from whom I received an ATC with a tiny paper doll on it.  I couldn't leave the idea of paper dolls, and just had to get into them and spend some time with the idea.

I actually decided to make paper doll prints, so that I could reproduce them, and maybe eventually play around with the idea of mixing and matching the different parts!

I then went ahead and carved a ballerina doll stamp:

I admit, I am not sure of the measurements, and just kind of eyeballed it, so I apologize if the proportions are off!  Undecided

The best part is that you can make many many dolls from one piece of cardstock, and try different color combinations and media!

After testing this print the first time, I ended up carving new arm segments.... these were weird and tiny!

Here are some dancing ballerinas!

For the joints, I couldn't find brads big enough, and ended up using jewelry pins (and bending them into a little loop on the back).   I have been informed by Pilarfarmer, though, that scrapbooks.com has micro brads which are a good size!  (At least for ATC sized paper dolls! YAY!)

Then, I also carved a Harlequin/Pierrot character:

And now, here are just a few action shots:

Thank you for looking!  These have been a lot of fun so far!

Fantastic!  I see many miniature corps de ballet in your future (a tiny Swan Lake, perhaps?).  And if you ever want to go the 2D route, with all the individual pieces you could easily stamp your dancers in poses directly onto a variety of surfaces as well.
