I'm not sure where to put this.  I had an extra piece of wood lying around and wanted to try string art.  I have seen other people do this with states and place the heart where their home town is.

I printed out an outline of Wisconsin (our new home), taped it to the wood and nailed small nails all around the outline as close as possible.  I used all the colors in my embroidery stash (except for black, white, and brown), and evenly split them among the outer nails, 10 nails per color.

After I finished, I took a sharpie and drew the quote.  What do you think?

First of all, this is some wicked awesome string art!

Secondly, I also welcome you to Wisconsin!  I'm a Madisonian, which it looks like you are now, too!  (at least that's my guess, based on the location of the heart and others' assumptions Wink  Though, you could also potentially be in the Dells area)

If you have any Madison area questions, just PM me!  Smiley

Oh thats funny... so did I... I love State Street in Mad Town... but I am a northwoods girl born and bred!  I am from the nose that is in the middle of the green bordering Minnesota... Thats Burnett county.  We are both so far away from our original homes...

This is fantastic! It brings back memories from when we used to do this as kids, except we just used rubber bands and it was not as pretty!
I'm going to do this with my home province, Manitoba Smiley

Great job! Very original. I love state shaped art. The colors are wonderful and I love the heart in the center.

I love your Wisconsin! Though I admit I am also biased as a Wisconsinite... My heart is on the far Qest of the state along the Mississippi River, though.
