Howdy! I'm trying to dye a pair dark jeans (90% cotton, 10% spandex) gray for a costume.  I'm going as a Cyber(wo)man for a convention soon (Like Friday). I plan on fabric spray painting DW stencils onto the jeans once they are gray...  I did the sink method exactly with the entire package (rit dye) but it did not really do anything at all...Any suggestions?

If you are trying to dye dark denim, you would probably need to remove the color from the denim before dyeing them.   Bleach would work if they are 100% cotton, but I'd be weary to do much bleaching on a pair with a lot of lycra...
