So my pearl snap top was in need of updating and lately, lace has been my best friend.  I took some scrap lace and pinned it to the shirt across the back.  I sewed the lace down following the seam around the shoulders and arms.  I then cut the lace as closely to the seam as possible.  Using the zig-zag stitch, I sewed over the rough edges of the lace, simultaneously reinforcing the lace and preventing fraying.  I was so thrilled with the back of the shirt, I had to add lace to the breast pockets and shoulders.
