I joined the 2012 Summer Semester Harry Potter Craftalong (You can too >> http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=408525.0) Today a new challenge was posted in which you needed to craft something purple that would blend in with the vivid purple Knight's Bus to spy and watch out for recent strange occurrences that have been happening.

I created Puffalump the Pygmy Puff. Pygmy puffs are already purple, so it was quite easy. (Plus I had a great desire to sit around, put my feet up, and watch a movie this afternoon...so crocheting something seemed like a lovely idea.) This one has been bewitched to keep an eye on the witches and wizards of the Knight Bus and report back to me. No one suspects this little pygmy puff 'cause she's just so darn cute.

I based her off of a hedgehog pattern I had. Made quite a few adjustments. I hate working with novelty yarns (I can't see what I'm doing ever!) so it was a lesson in patience as well. Enough talking...here's some more pictures!

The boyfriend was nice enough to pose, although he was quite embarrassed to be be posing with a fluffy purple thing when a car pulled up. Hence the laughing.

In a bush! Perhaps it's natural habitat? I'm unsure.

Although I hate working with the novelty yarns, I can't help but to love what a furry mess it makes. Wonder what to craft next for this craftalong...

This is one of the cutest puffs I've seen!  And I absolutely adore the pictures. Grin

The Dept. of Magical Law Enforcement is very grateful to have you and your puff on watch. Cool

Thanks guys! She didn't quite turn out exactly how I wanted, but I'm very pleased. I'm not too confident in my crocheting skills to make things up, but she ended up pretty good.

Bambam - you should totally learn! It's the best for when you feel like doing something, but you don't know what, or you don't have too much time. You just pick up whatever project you're working on and get to work right away. Some projects are like meditation. You can just sit there and zone out and crochet and be a zombie until your arm starts hurting. Lol.
