Even Canada to the US takes FOREVER!!! It's been 11 days since I mailed my package to bastetblue, and in theory I could drive to her city in a day.

On Tuesday I got a card from post office that they have a shipment to me that couldn't fit trough letterbox. On Wednesday I picked up this really interesting shaped package (and beeing such a lazybones I haven't posted pictures until now)! First I have to say that we decided to ditch all that "one" and "small" in this swap and go full speed and spoil each other Grin

On the side of the box it said "A gift from the Shire!" I didn't spent too much time admiring the box but started immediately dig into it! First I unwrapped this beautiful candle burner that has Smaug the Dragon painted on it (he is my favorite character). Above picture it reads in gold: "The glow of Smaug! There he lay, a vast red-golden dragon fast asleep." I don't know how Samsara knew I'm hoarding different sort of lanterns to our balcony, because I don't remember telling her! She must be mind reader...

I put a candle in there for a picture so you can admire its beautiful glow.

Inside the burner was also a little box containing...

...STITCH MARKERS! Yayy! Obviously they have been made from Smaug's treasure that Bilbo stolegot back from him.

But that's not all! Next thing I found...

...map from Bilbo's adventures. Letter enclosed told that Bilbo himself has allowed this to be sent to me Cheesy And last but not least...

...I got picture that Bilbo had on his wall at Bag End. I'm afraid he is turning to bit like Gollum for having that ring for so long... Roll Eyes

Here's one more picture of everything together. Thank you Samsara for your lovely gifts!

That candle burner is beautiful, and the stitch markers and pictures are lovely! I especially love the map, it is so wonderfully done!

I am wondering when I should start to worry my items haven't got to HowdySailor yet  Undecided It's been 15 days which is pretty much the longest postage time from Aussie to us so far. did someone say you had memorial day?

Yeah, I think Memorial Day Weekend is probably why it's taking so long. What Murple says is true, Canada to US and vice versa is very hit or miss. I've sent packages to Canada that took weeks and weeks to arrive. I was surprised my package to Murple got to her so fast, I'm used to it taking longer.

Today my package from Murple finally came! It might have come yesterday, but we didn't get any mail yesterday because there was a truck in front of our mailbox all morning. However, the package was well worth the wait!
The first thing I saw was the note Murple wrote on the package:

And then inside was...

An adorable Bilbo Baggins, with his very own hobbit-hole door!

The door is just right for Bilbo to relax in front of.  Smiley

And here is Bilbo on his own. Look at his little round belly, and his fuzzy feet! He also has a lovely green cloak, very sensible for when you are traveling the Misty Mountains and Mirkwood.

Thank you so much, Murple! You've been a great partner!

"Lonely Mountain.
Come at once if convenient.

If inconvenient, come anyway.

Could be dangerous.

-Smaug"

This totally cracked me up! Grin

What a wonderful little Bilbo, love his hair!

Seeing as I have a strange affinity for fire, I am really loving the idea of a Smaug candle holder....Beautiful!

Great Bilbo Murple - is it weird to admire the hairiness of something's feet? The Hobbit door has so much detail as well - awesome crafting  Cheesy
