Hello and Happy Friday!

After long last, I finally have something to contribute to Fiber Friday.  It's 366 yards of super-soft corespun yarn from a mixed batt.  The batt, "Sick Day", is from Gritty Knits and contains merino, bamboo, seacell, tencel, firestar, shetland, corriedale, tussah silk and carder scraps.  The batt was just 2 oz, and I really focused on just drafting the tiniest amount possible to corespin, and I'm really pleased I got 366 yards out of it.

Wow! 366 yards from 2ozs?!?! Impressive.

And here I thought I was doing good getting 355 yards out of 4 oz. I still think it's thin enough to make some yoga socks out of, though.

It's an Alpaca/merino/silk blend in the colorway "Tea Time Tarts" from Friends in Fiber on Etsy. I highly recommend these ladies.

Spinning this week was very nice. I feel so tightly wound and emotionally spread thin. I think I need to spin more to ease my mind. I have a fiber meet-up planned for tomorrow, though, with some ladies from Carlsbad (an hour south of us) and Artesia (midway between us and C-bad). Hopefully that will be fun. And the Phat Fiber box goes on sale tomorrow! I want it. Maybe I can snag a box before we leave for Artesia.

Thanks!  My core is sort of a fingering weight, and all spun up it's kind of a worsted weight.  Corespinning's nice that way -- a tiny amount of fiber can go a long way.

Love your yarn, Jexx!  Such pretty colors and a lovely sheen.  Your meetup sounds great -- probably just what you need to unwind a bit!

Hmmm...Phat Fiber box...I don't know what that is, but I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have to investigate further.  (Even though I just bought a bunch of fiber at a festival last weekend...)

I just PMed you about the Phat Fiber box. I got one once and I still haven't done anything with any of my samples, but I am also saving up fluff so I when I finally set up my carder I have a bunch of options to make different cool batts.

beautiful yarns Ladies!  I've just finished plying 4 bobbins of about 14 oz of chunky BFL, but don't even have it off the bobbins. I will eventually though!  And I plan on dyeing on Monday, so I'll have lots to share next friday!

Finished this one some time last week... currently working on a second skein (both 4oz+). I'm spinning this for someone who sent me the fiber, which is superwash BFL dyed by bee mice elf.
