If this has already been done, please let me know. Smiley

A while ago, I stumbled upon this website: http://www.theenchantedgallery.com/paperdolls.html along with random other places that makes paper dolls into an art form. After playing around with it, I really enjoyed making templates, then decorating them!

This seems like a great idea for a swap. Not only could we begin collecting them like ATCs, but they can fit inside a regular envelope.

Would anyone be interested in this? I have never organized before, but with help I would love to. Let me know your thoughts!

I would be interested.  I used to love making paper dolls. I never played with them, I just liked to make and color the clothes.  And I loved my Fashion Plates.  Did anyone else have these: http://themedestrian.com/fashion-plates-memories

I too love experimenting with clothing and designing the dolls!

It will probably take some time to get supporters (along with preparations), so that will give you plenty of time to finish your swap. Smiley

This looks like fun. I could help with organizing but not until later - late August or early September. But if you go earlier, I will try to join.

If needed, some people (myself included) could maybe even create templates for everyone to use, if they want to focus on styling/decorating more than anything else.

I'm going to work on one today, maybe if I post a couple of dolls, it will get people inspired!

Fabulous idea!  I would love some art dolls to frame and hang on the wall but I lack wall space.  Even if I don't join I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with.

I had that toy.  I TOTALLY loved it!  We picked it up at a yard sale when I was a kid and I used it all the time.

I love paper dolls! I would join if I'm not already in too many swaps when this opens.

I have some very old craft sewing magazines that come with the traditional style of undressed doll and the clothes/accessories to add with tabs. I think I prefer that style. I bought a Disney story book with new paper dolls with stands and cling on outfits. Those are lovely. They are all faries. I would prefer to make dolls and outfits as opposed to those art dolls, tho yours is lovely.

Here is a link to an etsy shop I found (which I have no affiliation to) that has some fun articulated paper dolls and other inspirational papery goodness. http://www.etsy.com/shop/crankbunny

I have been making these since this link was posted. Some of my students, five and six year olds, made them also. I hope this swap launches soon.

sorry if I'm over-posting here, but I found another etsy store (again, to which I have no affiliation) that has lots of beautiful little articulated paper dolls.  Hope it's as inspiring to you as it is to me...http://www.etsy.com/shop/woolandwater?ref=seller_info
