I normally do the wig-cap method when making hair for my amis, which is fine when the hair just hangs every which way. For this particular doll, though, I'd like her hair to be parted on the side. Thing is, I'm not really sure how to get a nice, even part without the cap showing underneath it. I'm not opposed to trying another method, but I haven't got the slightest clue on how to fix the problem. Help?

I suppose u could just put a piece if yarn down the part showing and that would define your part too but as long as your wig cap is the same color I haven't seen that it makes that much of a difference.

As you are rooting the hair, leave a small line where you want the part to be.  You can root a strand on either side, but not on that line.  All the hair down the rest of the head can run parallel to this line.  Does this make sense?
