(That crazy Tree of Life Pendant girl)

While of course, most people know me for my jewelry (my tree of life pendants most notably!), I do enjoy a wide variety of other crafts. And, I love experimenting with other crafts to keep my creativity flowing. Grin

I made this for missmoppet in the Ongoing Wish Swap round 82. She shared a pic in the gallery here, but I was so pleased with how it came out, I wanted to share it in a post as well. I kinda decided to make it on a whim, without any real plan, so it's always great when something comes out better than you expect when you're just experimenting!

I used a combination of card stock and scrapbook paper. The card stock butterflies I folded to bring their wings up, as if in flight. Some of the scrapbook ones I doubled, putting one directly on top of another to give it a 3D effect. Because of the depth of the shadowbox frame, theres plenty of room for them to flutter their wings.

Its a fun take on a traditional specimen or botanical print. No butterflies are harmed in the making of this one!  Wink

As always, feedback appreciated! Grin

This is one of those pieces that makes me tilt my head. You had me with the 3D effect. I would like something like this as a hoopla, so I'm going to pin it. Thanks for the inspiration.

I may not be perfect, but I'm so close it's almost eerie.

Very pretty. The background paper kinda reminds me of a window screen. Like the butterflies were flying past or maybe they all landed for a rest at the same time?
