Sophisticated Doggy Tie using the BERNINA 330

I like to tease my little man, telling him that he needs to find a job to earn his keep. I finally decided, how could he find a job, if he doesn't have the proper attire? He needed a tie!

Pete was originally from Texas, so the fabric I picked were little cow skulls. Plus, it makes him look tough!

I searched the internet for all types of dog ties. I found the best tutorial at http://erinerickson.com/2010/11/little-dog-tie-tutorial/

The materials I used were:
A scrap of material, roughly 6 x 14 inches
Interfacing of the same length and width

After cutting out my fabric from the template provided on the website, I fused the fabric together.

Match up the printed side (right side) of the fabric on the middle piece (again from the template) and stitch with 1/4 seam allowance to the right side of the actual tie.

Turn right side out and iron.

Fold over the tie so you now have one tie instead of a bow tie. Stitch the tie together until you get to the top of the middle piece. Make sure you leave that open!

Fold the tie back out, right sides out.

To make the tie wrap, again, use the template and make a small hoop. Stitch long sides together and then fold over to make another hoop.

Fold the tie, accordion style and place the tie wrap over the tie. Now place the tie on the pup's leash.

Pete is all ready for his interview! He's got the mad skillz to pay the billz!

There is just something about a man in a tie, isn't there?  It's so fun to have some doggie dress up for the boys!
