I am finally getting a new working machine, and have narrowed it down to these two options. Has anyone used either one before? Which would you get if you had the choice?

Well, I am not an expert, but I got the Janome Magnolia 7318 for Mother's day and I love it. I've heard some less than spectacular things about the newer Singers, so I went with Janome. The machine is simple and mechanical, but it's very smooth and has sewn easily though denim, canvas, various interfacings, flannel and of course, cotton. There aren't a lot of fancy stitches, but I think it has all I need and does a great job.
