I started making this for my Grandma with the intention of it being her christmas present, but my sewing machine was out of action and I had to travel to my Mum's house an hour on the bus to work on it. Add that to a new and demanding job and it didn't get finished in time. I just booked train tickets to go stay with my Grandparents next weekend though so yesterday I finished it off:

It's not exacly 'quilted' since there's no wadding, it's backed with fleece and tied instead, but with cross stitches tied on the back. The cross stitches hide the biots where the squares don't quite match up - I can do small bits of patchwork ok but I'm not so great at big things!

I think maybe I should have added a border but overall I'm quite happy with how it turned out.

Comments and criticism welcome!

It's very pretty!  I love the fabrics you used; I'm sure your grandmother will love it!

Thanks for all the compliments! I've blogged about it as well if anyone is interested.

The random pattern is because I didn't have enough of each colour to have a square of every colour in each row!
