Between band camp, my sink exploding, and school shopping, I finally get a chance to take pictures!

Here are some of my Quidditch projects for GRYFFINDOR!

Quidditch: Chaser
House: Gryffindor
Project Name & Page Link: Puff Mitts ~free pattern~
Brief Description: I've been meaning to write up my pattern for these mitts for quite awhile.  I created this pattern to go with the Pretty Puffs Slouchy Hat by ArrghMatey.  This challenge seemed the perfect motivation to work out the kinks.  I'll be posting a pattern on Craftster in a bit.
Project Picture:

Quidditch: Beater
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Daughter's Paw Art Shirt
Brief Description:  I've been dying to try my hand at a bleach pen tee, and my daughter did need a new art cover-up shirt.  So I combined the 2 and came up with this tee.  (Our schools are all Wildcats so paws were a must)
Project Picture:

Quidditch: Cheering/Spirit
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Spirit SPEW Slippers (size7)
Brief Description:  Here are a pair of slippers I made to spread the Gryffindor Spirit.  They are the Oma House Slippers pattern, which I highly recommend because it is so easy & quick (8 rounds and you are done...though for larger sizes I add a round, but still 9 rounds for one slipper is amazing).
Project Picture:

Quidditch: Keeper
House: Gryffindor
Project Name: Spirit SPEW Slippers #2 (size9)
Brief Description:  Another pair of Gryffindor slippers!  I make slippers for a locate nursing home.  I also donate other small items and lapghans to them for Xmas time; many times these patients rarely get visitors and need cheering up around the holidays.
Project Picture:

a group shot so you can see I really did do 2 pairs

QUIDDITCH CHALLENGE -- Ravenclaw House
I'm afraid I'm a poor Quidditch player, but I gave it a go anyway.

~*Beater (20 pts): Don't get beat by something new, try a new-to-you technique or material.

I needed a new belt and it's hard to find women's belts that I like, that fit, and that aren't totally shoddy. I've been meaning to sew a simple D-ring belt all summer, but when the Beater challenge came up I decided to try making version of the Tunisian crochet belt that I saw on the program Knit and Crochet Today. It was my first time trying Tunisian crochet (aka Afghan stitch and a few other names), and, although there were a couple of false starts, it was fun to do. I like the grid-like texture it makes on the right side. I enjoyed making it so much I made my belt a good seven inches too long and had to unravel!

~*Seeker (20pts): Get the Snitch or die trying.  Craft something with a snitch

Not sure what to do, I decided to do something I hadn't done in a few years: play with Shrinky Dinks. I'd never used the Crystal Clear Shrinky Dinks at all, only the classic Frosted kind, so I just experimented a little with markers and a touch of acrylic paint and made some Snitch charms.

~*Broomstick (20pts): What would quidditch be without a broom?  Craft an item featuring a broom or inspired by your favorite broomstick.

More SD charms. As you can see, these aren't sleek racing brooms. I went more for the family broomstick; the darker one especially seems designed to cater to the ample-bottomed witch or wizard. The little one is obviously a toy broomstick.   Cheesy

[ETA my house name.]

I've been catching up on the thread. There's so much cool stuff it's hard to keep track of!

Avesthel, I thought your shawl pin was copper until I read your description. I like it a lot.

Pinkleo, your paw print shirt is really cute and I love the fiery, phoenix-like effect of the yarn in your Gryffindor slippers.

Lightninglisa, I'll bet those snitches look great on your Christmas tree this year.

Aliis, broomstick pasta deserves some kind of creativity prize. Or a patience prize for making all those thin cuts and having to roll up the dough after.

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.

wifeofbath, your snitches are great! I thought of a gift tag when I saw them.

pinkleo, your sink exploded? Someone practicing their expulso spell or something? Cheesy. Loving the Puff Mitts, too!

Well, one of the pipes joints came loose due to pressure (clog created by my hubby, who still hasn't figured out you can not cram anything&everything, at once into the drain); then tons of water and gunk explosively spewed everywhere in my kitchen!  (Of course hubby is not around for this bit)

And I just posted my free crochet pattern for the Puff Mitts!  Enjoy everyone! Grin
