I totally just had a nerdgasam, this is exactly what I needed! I have so many ideas but I think I will start with Care of Magical Creatures

I too am starting in Care of Magical Creatures. I shall be studying Ogier, who were discovered by the scholar Robert Jordan, perhaps you've heard of them?

This looks like a lot of fun!  Since this is the first time I've attempted themed crafting, and have not read my HP very thoroughly, I suppose that makes me an overage foreign exchange student....

While I'd love to be heroic enough to be Gryffindor, or smart enough to be Ravenclaw, I believe I'll go with my strengths and become a Hufflepuff!

Nerdgasm....I now will be saying this all the time! Wink  And this craftalong is just what I needed too!  I've been in a rut lately (and a bit low), but this craftalong has made inspired and giddy!

WELCOME!!  I shall keep an eye out for Archemedes.  I can't wait to see what you craft; I am very intrigued by these Ogiers.

Foreign exchange students and all levels of HP love are always welcome, but I bet we'll have you thoroughly versed in HP before you know it. Wink

And YAY Hufflepuff!  What a wonderful house!!  (And the fact that Helga Hufflepuff was gifted in food-related Charms and that her recipes are used for Hogwarts feasts makes me love the Puffs that much more!  I'm hoping that a few Hufflepuffs share this gift and post yummy recipes. Grin)  So come on Hufflepuffs...Badger Pride!!

If we are choosing our houses, I am a Hufflepuff. I knew that I made the right choice with my college when I learned their colors are yellow and black too  Grin

We are not sorting in houses for Summer, but we are definitely supporting House Pride!  That way you can start seeing who's in your house (because you want to know who is going to be your housemate for the House Cup Competition in the Fall) and show off fantastic house inspired items! (for me, that's the best part!)

pssst....I'm Gryffindor!

In other news, I've been working on badges, can't wait to see what assignment is turned in first (I bet it will be a badge I haven't made).  And spiders....why spiders!

I'm feeling very Ravenclaw, since being in school to become a teacher. I'm learning to love learning for the sake of learning....hehe.

It's funny because I've identified with every other house at some point, and yet as a child everyone said I should be in Ravenclaw.

I wish there were a real sorting hat to place me!

There is! Sign up for Pottermore.com and explore the first book until it sorts you. Jk Rowling had a hand in the websites creation so I don't think it gets more official than that!
I'm Ravenclaw too!

I was sorted yesterday, and I am Hufflepuff Cheesy Also, do Pokemon count as magical creatures, or should it be more traditional/HP oriented?

As my house seems to be filled with Pokemon, I would count them as magical creatures. Wink

Assignments can be translated many, many ways (craft what inspires you, because first & foremost we are a craftalong, we want to encourage the magical arts of crafting), and your description/explanation of your turned-in assignment can go a long way in showing how it fits the category.

:::My Pottermore Confession:::  I have been sorted 4 times!  I always answer how I truly feel (no trying to answer what I think that hat wants to hear to get in a certain house).  And here is how I was sorted:  First time (early entry) I was sorted Ravenclaw, which I understood because I hold many traits of a Ravenclaw, but I was a bit sadden because I've always had a strong pull to Gryffindor (as well as having many of those traits as well).  Second time (after everyone could enter), I wanted to try again, and I was Gryffindor.  Well then I felt a bit guilty for trying to resort myself so I did it again, and I was Hufflepuff!  (Then again I can see that....actually I see bits of myself in every house, but I think it is your driving force that should be your main house...I'm digressing...moving along)  So I did it again, since I had myself thoroughly confused; I promised myself if there was a repeat house then that would be my house (my heart could handle no more).  A little nervous, I was sorted again, and this time it was Gryffindor!

Sidenote: Always the same wand ~ 12-1/2", Ebony, Dragon, Slightly Springy

Oh, be still my heart, this has just made my day. I'm sending my owl posthaste. Although, she's a bit careless - make sure you're ready to duck.

Ahh...a summer filled with Hogwarts magic. It's what I've been waiting for.

And I second the notion that pokemon are magical creatures. I have a menagerie of them in my home as well - so they must count. Wink
