I consider this to be more crafty than arty, but I think this is still the best place for this.

The Union Flag has been symbol of unity and damn fine design since 1606 Wink It has inspired artists and designers ever since, and this Jubilee year I wanted to create something inspired by this flag myself in my own way.

Our flag represents the crosses of three countries united under one Sovereign - the kingdoms of England (the cross of St George, a red cross on a white ground) and Wales (not represented since it wasn't a separate principality when the flag was designed), of Scotland (the cross saltire of St Andrew, a diagonal white cross on a blue ground) and of Ireland (the cross saltire of St Patrick, is a diagonal red cross on a white ground).

Okay that's quite enough of that, more pictures! Cheesy

Wherever I am in the world, whenever I see this flag I can't help but smile and think of home. The little disk at the bottom says "near here".

It's gorgeous! Being a Brit myself I'm sort of partial but it's glorious!

I really, really, really love this!  I would love to have something like it hanging on our wall.  You did a great job.

Want to learn to crochet or knit?  I have a ton of extra crochet hooks & circular knitting needles.  Will throw in some pattern books and yarn for anyone interested in a swap.

I know that deep down I was meant to be British. This just pleases that little special British place in my heart. Good job. It's simply FANTASTIC
