I love this. I think it's so fun!

This piece starts with a large, decorative Penny Farthing bicycle pendant in brass (or antique, aged gold color) measuring 3" at it's widest and 2.5" at it's tallest.

I have then embellished it with several accents including a large aqua/turquoise blue rose on the front wheel, genuine watch gears on the smaller back wheel (including a genuine, precious ruby in the clock movement), and a tiny Swarovski crystal in the gears.

There is also a butterfly charm added to the front wheel and two chains dangling from the bottom. The chains are mixed metals; one is a textured brass chain, the other, a silvery black metallic. Small, matching flowers in aqua/turquoise and orange/peach hang from the chains.

I've made something like this once before (for a swap) but it's been awhile and when I found another one of these charms in my bead stash, I thought I'd try something a little different. So here is the result!

As always, thoughts welcome! Grin

I like this piece, but I'm not really sure about the aqua rose. Personally, I think I'd like it better if the rose were replaced with some more gears (gold toned ones for the front wheel) and then maybe some more vibrant colour added in by colouring the saddle and some more smaller flower charms. I think the rose is just a tad too big, and I like my steampunk to be a bit less subtle.

Nonetheless, it's definitely a beautiful piece!

Sure, I hear ya. I just decided on this one to add more...um...romance? to it. So it wasn't just steampunk but also kinda Victorian too. But gears and such are always good. Wink

That bicyle is so cute.  I like the romantic look of the rose myself, I wouldn't change it.
