I got convinced to join a local Art Hop that my town has every three months for local artist to showcase their art work; be it paintings, sketches, photography, crafts, etc. I've wanted to join for a while but just needed that push and the bf was the one to push. So glad he did because i had a good time. I didn't have much to show so I knew I needed to get to working. Since I love doing portraits (the whole body just takes too much time and too much detail lol), I thought I'd go with that. I'm a bit out of practice but loved the way it came out. I enjoy doing black and whites and most of the time actresses. Over half of the portraits that I've tried to accomplish have been profiles because it's killer for me to try and get the other eye somewhat symmetrical. But this time i went for it... Here is my Hedy Lamarr portrait all done in color pencil.

Finished drawing (sorry for the camera pictures.. it's all i have)

the beginning

Just this eye took 2 hours alone!!!

progress...

Stunning work!  So glad you got the push you needed to do this, and hope it's provided momentum for you to keep going.  Will be on the lookout for more -- perhaps a series of black and white movie stars portraits?

This is not a bad idea. I've already done Julia Roberts, Lauren Bacall and Elvis in black and white (all these were done in high school). I just might keep it up and make a huge series of it. Great idea!!!

LOL.. Thank you!!!!! That is so awesome to hear someone say that. Totally made my day =)

I like Kit-Kat, unless I'm with 4 or more people.
