This was inspired by the story of the Welsh maiden Blodeuwedd, who was created from nine types of flowers and is a youthful maiden goddess of summer. Her story is one of love, power and rebellion which sees her turned into an owl, never to show her face in the light of day. In Welsh, blodeuwedd, meaning "Flower-face", is the name for an owl.

All tucked away...I love the idea of being able to have this on a shelf and the theatre of opening the pull out to reveal her.

A closer look. I've had this old ceramic figure for years, must be about 15 or so, just waiting for the perfect project for her. I didn't want to do too much too her as I think she's lovely as she is. The stars and some of the feathers are glittery.

She's stunning. The whole piece is beautiful and a bit haunting. The box she's hiding away in is really neat.

Interesting juxtaposition of the outside to the inside. Like the mix, and with your style it works beautifully!
