I saw the Jordy tutorial and wanted to make a bag, but had not material. So, I ramsacked my townhome and decided to make a theme bag. using this pair of jeans and a button down shirt. The jeans had holes in the butt and patching would have just drawn more attention to it, but I kept them for a long time thinking some day I would find a use for them. I picked up this shirt a year ago in my old apartment complex. The laundry room had a dump table that I would pick through for free clothes.  Anyway, here is my jean and shirt bag:

Of course, my sewing machine is broken and so all of this was handsewn, making it much more difficult. I think it could have turned out better with a sewing machine.

I just made these for my daughters, but my friend told me she saw some at a flea mkt that had a fabric bottom....the pants were not sewn together. Has anybody seen/made that kind? I've never saw them. Huh

that is sooooooo cute!

just a question though... what size jean do you wear?
(my jeans would be WAY too big for a cute purse) cause I'll be going thrifting soon!

I wear size 8 jeans...so it was big for a bag, but it looks kind of boho big which is kind of in style now. Unfortunately one of the straps broke, because I was carry school books in it. So, I have to fix it.  I'll see if I can get a tutorial soon.

This is my first time to post a tutorial, so I hope that I am halfway coherent. I had trouble with knowing exactly how to word things. Hopefully you can figure it out.

I also made one like that, and hand sewed it, because !-i have absolutely no idea how to use a sewing machine, and 2- I trashed my mom's sewing room, so even if I did know how, i couldnt find the machine  Undecided You did a REALLY good jobn! i like the belt and flower!
