Sophie, the tiny ballerina. *Now with pattern*

Hi! I have been working on this tiny ballerina this week, I made her for a friend who is a real ballerina. And my friend called her Sophie!

She loved it, I hope you like too. Wink

(Sophie is still learning ballet, she is very hardworking!)

I made her from my own pattern, it is my third pattern, I guess... And I'm planning to put here freely, but first I have to organize my scribbles.

Here are two pictures of her in my hand, so you can see her size:

I'm really proud of myself, because I worked hard to create her and more to sew all the small parts. But I found that she is really cute! I glued her eyes because they are so tiny and I didn't know how to sew it correctly in her face.

Pattern

You will need:

You can choose any color for you ballerina, but have at least four: for the skin, hair, tutu and leotard!
• Small amount of black embroidery yarn for the mouth
• Fiberfill for stuffing
• A 1.75mm hook, but I guess that a 2mm will work well too.

SC = single crochet
INC = increase
DEC = decrease (I recommend invisible decrease)
HDC = Half double crochet
DC = Double crochet
Ch = Chain
Sl St = Slip stitch

Head – Work this in joined rounds
In skin color

1: 6 SC into a magic ring (6)
2: INC in each sc around (12)
3: SC, INC around (18)
4-6: SC around (18)
7: SC, DEC around (12)
8: DEC around (6)
Finish off

Hair – Work this in spiral

1: 6 SC into a magic ring (6)
2: INC in each sc around (12)
3: SC, INC around (18)
4-5: SC around (18)
6: 3 HDC, 6 DC, 3 HDC, 6 SC (18)
Sew or glue to head this way:

Bun
In hair color

5 SC into a magic ring, join to first sc. (5)
Finish off
Sew or glue to top of hair. With a piece of yarn of the dress color, I wrap around the bun, so, it looks like it's holding her hair.

Tutu - Work this in joined rounds

1: Ch 10, join to first Ch to make a circle.
2: 10 SC in each ch (10)
3: INC around (20)
4: SC around (20)
5: INC around (40)

Leotard/bodice - Everything of this part is made in joined rounds

Join (in the first sc of the first round) the color chosen for the leotard.
1: SC, DEC around (7)
2: SC, INC (10)
3: SC in front loops only (10).

Now, stop a minute and join the skin color to the first back loop (after join) of the leotard.
1: 2 SC, DEC around (8 ) (Will finish with a sc and not a dec)
2: 4 DEC (4)

And now back to work on the leotard
4: SC around (10)
5: Ch 6, skip the next 3 SC, 3 Sl St, Skip the next 3 SC, Sl St
Finish off

Arm (make two) - Work this in spiral
In skin color

1: 4 SC into a magic ring (4)
2: SC, INC around (6)
3: SC around (6)
4: SC, DEC (4)
5-6: SC around (4)
Finish off.

Leg (make two) - Work this in spiral
For this part, you will need two colors. Carry the yarn that is not being used inside the foot and pick up it when you need to change.

I'll change the color of the text when you need to change the yarn. Also, only this part will be all in bold.
Red: tutu color
Brown: skin color

1: 4 SC into a magic ring (4)
2: INC, SC, SC, INC (6)
3: SC 4, 2 SC (6)
4: SC, 3 DC, SC, 2 SC (6)
5: SC 4, SC 2 (6)
Now just work with skin color.

6: SC, DEC, SC in next 3 sc (5)
7: SC around (5) change to leotard color at the end of round.
8: SC around (5).
Finish off the first leg only. When finish the second leg, join with a sl st to the first one and work as it is one piece. The process is similar to the one I used with Milhouse, so, look to this picture:

9: Sc *around (10).
Finish off.

Now, sew the arms to the body, in a way it stay under the chains that you made in the leotard. Sew head to body and legs to the tutut, but stuff before. I don’t stuff the legs or the arms.
