I have just started doing Kombucha tea and I'm wondering if it's possible to use red tea to make it?
I have the Lipton red tea with the strawberry bits in it and it's one of my fave teas. But I didn't know if you can use red tea to make Kombucha and especially because of the dried strawberry bits and other additives like cornstarch ect in the tea bag?I didn't know if that would cause my culture to grow mold ect?

Hi.  I just started making kombucha a few weeks ago.  Everything I've read says to add flavors after brewing.  The only teas I've seen used are black tea and green tea.  I would be afraid too, of mold growing with the strawberry bits or some other bad reaction with the SCOBY.
