I suddenly felt that I needed a denim skirt. I had an old pair of jeans ready for the job. I didn't want to do the regular unpick and overlap the crotch seams deal, so I searched online and found a different way. I can't find it again, but I believe it was on the eHow site. You know the one where they give you the instructions in steps and you tick them off as you go? Anyway... I cut off the legs a few inches longer than I wanted the skirt to be. Unpicked the front inseam up to the bottom of the zipper, and the back all the way up to the waistband. Then pinned it together, tucking away the crotch that you'd normally see overlapping on the front and back, and stitching straight down the front and back. Pinned and hemmed the bottom, and bob's your uncle!

Great idea. I too don't like the overlap look on a jean skirt and have been trying to figure out a way to avoid it. Your results look great. Smiley

Cute!  I am so over the cross the crotch in front look...but glad to see that skirts are still being made from old pairs of jeans in this new more flattering way!

Good job!

I'm thinking this may be the site you were looking for (at least the instructions seemed very similar to the ones you gave).
