Let me start by saying that comments and constructive criticism are welcome but be gentle as this is only my second piece of embroidery and I'm self-taught.  I've done cross stitch for probably 30+ years but never ventured into embroidery until a few weeks ago.

I've been taking part in the Ongoing Hoopla Swaps and have seen some fantastic embroidery and been jealous of those who could do it.  Then the fateful day came.......an Urban Threads newsletter arrived in my in-box with a beautiful, glowing jellyfish.....I thought two things that day....I could either pin it and hope someone made it for me or I could learn to embroider.  I turned to Averia for some suggestions, she pointed me to a great website that explained different stitches and how to do them and I was off.  First I did a very small piece that is on it's way to a swap partner but I knew I HAD to make this jellyfish and this is the result of many hours of stitching.....

It's in an 8" hoop and while I did fill the main body in with stitching,
I cheated on some of the tentacles and colored them
                                                                               in with white crayon.

Now you may ask, why is it called GLOWY jellyfish?  Well, let me show you

All the white thread is glow-in-the-dark thread so when the lights go out, it glows!

Wow! That's your second embroidery? Ever? You did an awesome job! And I think you're an inspiration to some like me, who just stare in awe at embroidery but are too scared to try.  I love it!!

It's beautiful!  I wanted to learn to embroider when I first saw this pattern too!  (I am also a cross stitcher)
