hello, i have a friend who i met two years ago at the place i worked at the time-he came to the u.s. to work with a bunch of other internationals. they stay for the summer and then go back home. well, he just came back for his 3rd (and im thinking his last) summer and i am trying to think of things to give him. (girls are so much easier!!!) ive looked on this board and saw some good ideas, but there were only 1 or 2 topics involving this, and they were mainly for exchange students or a person that they didnt know yet, while this person is already a friend. hes 22 if that helps, and he's from turkey. i was thinking some u.s. coins, but thats not really anything all that cool. any help would be great. thanks Smiley

well staying on the coin thing, I'd stay make rubbing of coins onto the front of a notebook (or make a notebook yourself, there are many tutes on craftster) and then laminate. Um you could put photos/memories in the book and leave space for him to write things also Huh?

thats a cool idea- i was actually going to bind him a book as a going away gift, and i was going to put a few pictures in it as well, so the coin rubbing idea is cool Smiley thanks a bunch! if anyone has more ideas, post them-i need as many as possible! thanks!

What about including postcards from the area you are in? Special food treats (least ones that can go through Customs at the airport OK). Some towns/cities have 'tourist' giftshops that are fun to browse for, "I can do that myself - and better!" ideas.
