During the winter my step-dad was frequently outside in the cold. Yes, he did have plenty of jackets and fluffy socks with him but his head and ears were unprotected Shocked. And so for Christmas, I made him this hat from a great pattern:http://dontmakemeover.wordpress.com/2010/08/30/ron-weasley-animal-crackers-hat/
There was a problem to making this though: I had no idea how big my step-dad's head was, so I didn't know how large to make it.
The solution was simple though: I just casually walked in the kitchen with a tape measure, measured his head, and walked out. Simple Wink
