My husband brought a box of 'junk' at an auction and when I saw a rusty old pair of scissors in the mix I knew I wanted to create something for this challenge.

So I've made an homage, a shrine, to little boys and the game "rock, paper, scissors" in this assemblage piece.

The boy is from a photo in my collection... he is my paper. It's a happy coincidence that he's holding a book.

Those little bits inside came from the auction box too. There's an old marble, corks, bb shots, nails. There is a stone inside (I'm always picking up stones) but it's not really my rock. I added it because the texture was nifty.

On the top of the box is a vintage Christmas light reflector, an old turquoise clip on earring, and a found animal tooth.

What is my rock? See that dangly bit at the bottom? It's an arrow head!

Anyway, I'm really pleased with this piece. I could say all sorts of arty farty things about it but I think that's pretentious so I'll just shut up Wink

P.S. Here's the goodies that were in the auction box... notice the pile of twos... A PILE OF TWOS!

I love the way you've used all those tiny things that we all collect and then do nothing with.

It seems odd to use "lovely" when talking about an homage to little boys, but this is just lovely.

I think what I love most about it is that it the "rock paper scissors" theme is so boldly there and yet completely un-obvious...

That sentence makes perfect sense to me, lol.
