Thanks racky

How did you make the signs for out front?

I designed the signage in Illustrator then applied the printouts to wood which was painted black and sanded all the edges to sort of 'age' them and make them appear almost seamless. I was worried they'd look a bit iffy but I really like how they turned out. I had originally thought about hand painting the signs but the thought of all that tiny lettering did my head in.

And please do tell us who Wendy and BF are. The only Wendy I can think of is Peter Pan's friend.

BF is Brian Froud and Wendy is his wife. They are my very favourite modern faerie artists. (Wendy actually worked on the team that created Yoda as well as the puppets for The Dark Crystal and Labyrinth) They have a book coming out very soon all about goblins.

**BONUS useless fact of the day** The name Wendy was 'invented' by JM Barrie. It never existed until Peter Pan.

I would never have gotten that reference, but thanks for the fun fact.  Cheesy

I think your signs look great! I also really love seeing how you used ordinary objects, like the laundry pins for hanging the sign out front, and the jewelry clasp as the trap door. You're so danged creative!

Oh, and I love seeing a couple of pumpkins hanging around in the pub as well.  Smiley

My kid loves to chase squirrels and dreams of one day catching one and roasting it for dinner! ICK!

This made me chuckle, you must be really proud of that kid (I would)! Amazing, I would love to spend all week just admiring your work with all those founny little details and jokes. Love.

This is just so absolutely fabulously filled with awesome.

I am quite inspired -- I have a half-finished wee little house... after I finish up the wicked swap, I may just have to dust that puppy off and join the wee house craftalong.

My favorites are also the everyday items that you have incorporated into the house!

You had me from the the wee clay pots at the front door...then all through the house!

Fabulous...
