I love maps and typography and map covered typography, so I made this last week. It's my husband's and my first initials.

It's about 24" tall and 44" wide. The map is an old 1988 world map from National Geographic, complete with East and West Germany and the USSR. I used MDF for the base and spray adhesive to attach the map. Oh, and a jigsaw to cut it out. Because power tools rock.

Very cool! If I was brave enough to use power tools, I'd love to try something like this. Great job!

This is soooo cool, as soon as I saw it I thought, oooh where did you buy those letters from, then my heart sank, I'm with Lime on this, way too scared of cutting my own arms and legs off with electrical cutting tools.

I've been hosting a series on crafting with Maps this past week on my blog, would love to link this up, gorgeous project.  Grin

Thanks for all the love!

Please don't be put off by the jigsaw. It's really no scarier than a sewing machine. This is the one I have and it's really easy to use. Heck, I think it's way less complicated than a sewing machine.

ps. mink_bikini, I sent you a pm.
