My photo skills must be out of whack because there is a wee little cauldron out front of that tiny little house that's difficult to make out in this shot.

If it's so small that you, the queen of tiny houses, can't take a photo of it, it must be microscopic indeed! KC, you have to tell us what the trees are made of - I can't figure it out.

I've just been catching up on ten treasure-packed days of Gallery-viewing, and I'm a little bit shaken. I thought Microjivvy's moon-torturing tree was going to keep me up at night, but now Suereal's cave-bear horror has driven out that and every other nightmare, to claim my sleepless nights all for itself. Yikes! Even all the other funny, charming, pleasantly weird ones can't undo that. And there are many absolute marvels here, as I knew there would be.

And speaking of absolute marvels, I came home to a little box from Cackle. And wow. Just wow. Look at what was inside:

It's Baba Yaga's hut! One of the things Cackle and I share is a love of Baba Yaga, the Russian witch-goddess who lives deep in the forest in a house on hen's feet. (You can't sneak up on her, because no matter which way you approach from, the house always turns to face you.) In the stories it's surrounded by a garden fence made of the bones and skulls of her victims, represented here by the skull drawer pull.

Look at those wonderful chicken feet! Can you believe she sculpted them from polymer clay? And it's so perfectly balanced that it stands upright even with the drawer open!

And what's in that drawer, you ask?

The bones of her previous visitors, of course!

Photos don't really indicate the wee scale of this, either. Look at the tiny wooden window - about half the width of a sugar-cube! The matchbox itself is the smallest I've ever seen - only an inch wide!

Thank you, Cackle! I think I may have to build a special shelf to hold this tiny treasure!

Glad you like it, Wulf. I toyed for a while with trying to put the bone fence in there and decided that Lady Yaga's house was on walk-about and left the garden behind for awhile.  Grin

Killam, that's an absolutely charming box and I love the trees -- they're just so intricate and lovely.

Baba Yaga! LOVE it. Her. erm.  That. (trying hard not to offend anyone living in a house on chicken legs) -- the whole piece is completely awesome and filled with creepy win.

To all past swap partners....If something I made you fell apart in some way, it would be helpful to me if you PMed me and told me about it.  Sometimes, I try new things, and if they fail, it helps me to know
