Discussion Thread and Gallery Link

This swap will open for claims on May 1st and close on May 31st - If you would like to sign up please read all info and PM the organizer (oyhana) your questionnaire.

If you have participated in other ongoing swaps before, please ensure you read this information as you may find things a little different

This swap works as a chain. The first person will post a wish list containing both crafted items and supplies, another participant claims at least a medium item from their list and then posts their own list and so on.

A medium item consists of a craft that takes the average crafter more than 2 hours to complete (not including drying/waiting time), or if sending supplies, CA $20-$30 of store bought items.

Please include a minimum of 20 specific crafted items medium or small in size and 15 supplies in your list. To help the other participants it helps if you have a link to an image or tutorial of what you would like to receive. The more items you have in your wish list the faster you will get claimed.

When posting your wishlist please include the following information:

1)   A short description of yourself and any allergies or sensitivities you may have.  Include colours and patterns you like or dislike.
2)   Please say something nice and happy about Canada.
3)   A list of 20 crafted items and 15 craft supplies, and any extras you dig (such as food stuffs) if you can
include photos (small) or links to your items that would be great too.
4)   If you have a pinterest or wist please say what things you would like crafted from there or from which sections and which sections are off limits. Also if it is okay for a pinterest surprise!

When picking a claim:

1)   Please begin your post with how many claims you have made, how many claims in transit and how many  received – in a format like this: 1-0-1 kind of thing.
2)   Then add your prepared wishlist.
3)   Send a PM right away to the person you claimed to say Hello, and ask for there postal address.
4)   Send a PM to your organizer (oyhana) to let her know what you have claimed.
5)   You then have 3 weeks from the date you picked to send your claim.

Once you have completed and sent your claim please PM your organizer and the recipient. As it is within Canada, you can include a tracking number, if it isn’t big enough to need one just keep the receipt.

How many claims may you make?

Friends of Craftster can make 3 claims
Non-Friends of Craftster can make 2
First time swappers can make 1

Once you have maxed out on your limit of claims, you must wait until one of your items is received before making another claim.  You must at least make one claim to be in the swap.

When sending information to your organizer please list the subject heading  as follows:
 COWS APPROVAL
 COWS SENT
 COWS RECEIVED
 COWS QUESTION

Please do not make a claim for this swap until you have been approved. As soon as you have been added to the list on the first page you can begin claiming and have some COWS fun…

Regarding Feedback:
There are some things that will land you with negative feedback, so please pay attention to the following information.
* You must send the medium item that you have claimed for, otherwise you will receive negative feedback.
* If you claim for a cotton hat, and then you make and send a wool one, you will need to send again.
* Pay close attention to your partners allergies and wishes. If you send something that is on the list of allergies, or dislikes etc. you will be required to send again   We don’t want any swappers get something that is clearly in their list of things they don’t like and or have allergies of.....

If everything goes successfully-which it should! You will receive feedback once you have, sent, received and posted pictures for all of your claims
Or if you have not posted pictures, up to 2 weeks after the swap has ended.

If you wish to participate, please send this questionnaire to the organizer Oyhana, do not reply on this thread.

Myrdda is up first from last month  Smiley

My name is Jody and I live in Prince George, BC – seriously smack dab in the middle of the province. I love BC and have travelled across the province, back and forth and up and down, and would never live anywhere else. I work as a legal assistant, and though I've been working there for a short time, everyone in the office believes that I can make anything – and they hear about Craftster all the time from me! I have two kids, two cats, two fish – but only one husband. I like things that have a use, as opposed to just dust collectors that sit on a shelf. We are starting (through Craftster) to get quite a nice little collection of eclectic wall art. My daughter is a little 'goth' wannabe, and has a lot of fun with it. My son is four and is aging me. I love Firefly (the chinese/old west was Whedon's genius) and Dr Who, and Fallout – anything themed those ways would be appreciated.

My Crafting List:

1. Anything from my Pinterest
2. Anything from my Wist
3. Dr Who pillow
4. Dr Who 5th Dr. Scarf, for the husband
5. Dr Who wall art (we have a painting of the exploding TARDIS already)
6. Dr Who cookie jar
7. anything Fallout – jewelry or 'memorabilia'
8. earrings organizer (i have a lot of hoops and dangly earrings)
9. a necklace organizer that isn't too heavy to hang on the wall if it needs to
10. Venetian -gothic masque
11. journal (gothic)
12. beer journal (for beer making, as opposed to beer tasting)
13. hand painted roving (any color)
14. hand spun yarn
15. women's size 7 slippers (for the gothic girly)- knit or crochet or whatever, in black and purple
16. art for the kitchen (something clever and sarcastic suits us down to the ground)
17. eyeglass case
18. kindle cover (something sturdy) – the one with the keyboard at the bottom
19. gothic tote bag (for girly's swimming stuff – so big enough for a towel, bathing suit, and attitude problem)
20. Firefly themed art
21. cupcake bath bombs (mine just don't turn out)
22. hand made soap
23. Steampunk jewelry/hat/goggles
24. Alice in Wonderland themed art – Not the Disney. The original or Tim Burton or American McGee's please
25. dessert recipes

My Supplies Wishlist

1. steampunk gears
2. soap making supplies – coconut oil especially, which is suddenly scarce in town
3. saftey eyes (size of a nickel roughly – most any color, but clear is okay because i could customize them)
4. roving
5. glass beads
6. needle gauge for knitting needles
7. empty shadow boxes
8. curio cabinet house thing – like this: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=406743.0
9. surprise me!
10. Ceramic pens
11. pens to write on glass
12. pretty pens (for work – teal are in high demand, as my boss likes them as much as me)
13. fabric
14. small trim (for doll clothes – about that size)
15. anything for Bento boxes
16. drop spindle (because one is not enough)
17. pretty knitting needles or crochet hooks
18. jewelry nose pliers

Miscellanea

1. love Coffee
2. and chocolate
3. i like surprises!

I'm claiming bobbiemay for Singer sewing accesaries.  Plus something crafty...I just can't decided what Grin

I claim flyingpigs24 for....stars and some other stuff

1-0-0

Howdy! My name is Susi, but I am suereal . I live near Chilliwack BC. I like OneOfAKind stuff. I like my dog Cosmo, monsters, glow in the dark, eyes, They Might Be Giants, clouds, and deep sea critters. I like most greens and blues (not fond of kelly green or navy blue), oranges and browns, black and purple. I don't like white, pink or red. I do not like girly, but I do like cute. I like geometric patterns mostly. I like polka dots, but not a regular repeat. I like them randomly scattered around, or the circles are not quite perfect. And the same with squares...I don't like plaids, but they can be cool if the lines are wavy. I don't like the word "perfect" in most cases. I like things scrappy and junky, cute and creepy, and "unique" is one of my favo words. If I have something on my wist, it's because I like the idea of it, not the exact thing. I dislike strong smells, but love lemon and some earthy smells

I'm American by birth, but Canadian by nature. I was lucky enough to fall in love with a Canadian, so I get to live here now. And I love it even more now that we have left the big city behind and I can see the clouds again. The mountains here make for incredible views. The clouds like to lay across the mountains like sleeping dragons

My wist is here: http://www.wists.com/suereal
web page and GLOB here: http://www.suereal.ca

My list

1. Fox Scarf--In some soft fabric (polar fleece, sweat shirting), not knitted. Orange or blue please. Like this: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?action=profile;u=247454;sa=showTopics
2. Stuff to help me be organized--I am not even sure what I need for that...I have lots of tins and empty boxes..but maybe some one out there knows of something that is super helpfull..I know vague eh?
3. Decorated T Shirts--Large or XL men's size. I will wear XL women's style some times, if they are long enough (and the longer the better). The decoration can be any of my themes and any technique. I just want more OOAK t-shirts
4. Small stuffies--sewn, crocheted, knitted, felted, or excetera, in my themes--Around 5 or 6 inches is great.
5. Medium stuffie monsters--Any style monster is great. By medium I mean around a foot or 2. Nothing HUGE please.
6. Largish fabric boxes/bins/baskets. I think I would like a wee handle on each side. Funky fabrics (poodle fabric would be killer) or make them into monsters, or TV's would be cute!
7. A 1/2 apron with pockets--Not the bib style. And not a tie on one either. I use my shirt to gather things into to carry from room to room. So I think an adjustable clip and lock style closer would be best, as sometimes things are heavy. Think more like a men's tool belt then a kitchen apron.
8. Slippers--my feet are women's size 10 wide. In cotton or bamboo yarn, or fabric. I think I would use them more if I could just slip them on, rather then have to sit down and slide my foot in with both hands. I think they are called scuffs? I have seen a Japanese style one before where they used a braided and coiled length of fabric as the sole. I think I would like that better then yarn
9. XL Men's T shirts for the Hub--He likes skulls mostly, but anything manly will do. It can be funny, but most men's mainstream tshirts are not funny, just tacky. Think alternative
10. Art based on my dog, Cosmo--figures, paintings, wall quilts, anything. Something with is full name would be wicked awesome. His name is Cosmo T. (for Tiberius) Wigglebottom, Squirrel Catcher. (He caught one last week, he didn't seem to hurt it, or it him, thankfully) Lots of pics of him at my web site, http://www.sureal.ca.
11. A hanging organizer with pockets--like a shoe organizer...But cooler looking. Might be hung in the bathroom or in my craft room, or bedroom even depending on the size
12. A braided denim or polar fleece mat/rug for the front door. If it were recycled jeans that would be even better. This one is most likely a large
13. Mug rugs...or larger. I use them under bowls of soup rather than a small plate. 6, 7, 8 inches square maybe? They will be used, so they should be sturdy enough to be thrown in the wash.
14. A roll of not-paper towels--Here's a wee tut-- http://cottontailbabies.org/2011/01/unpaper-towel-tutorial/
15. Reusable monthly pads. Like these http://www.sckoon.com/clothmenstrualpads.html 100% cotton please.
16. Smallish spice racks that have been decorated. I finally have a place I can keep paints out to see them, so the shelf needs to be tall and wide enough to fit acrylic craft paint bottles. I have 3 shelves so far, I will need maybe 5 more.
17. Surprise me. Something from my wist, or profile, or something you are just sure I need from stalking me
18. Funky pillow cases. Standard size, long body pillow or a special size for a buckwheat husk pillow I use. PM me for measurements if you want to do the last 2.
19. Knit or crocheted long fingerless gloves in cotton or bamboo. I have a lovely pair of wool ones, but I want some not that warm ones for in the house. If you choose this, PM me for measurements.
20. A baseball style brimmed hat in a steampunkish/apocalypse style. I like the close fitting type of b-ball hat, not the box type. I never leave the house with out my baseball hat. It would be nice to have a crafty one. Darker colors preferred.
21.  Funky fabric shopping bags.  Mine are all from the 80's, so they are starting to be a bit raggedy.  My Hub has to use them so think more skulls then cuty things.  But I would love some monster fabric bags as well
22.  Fabric napikins in not normal fabrics.  Again monsters skulls eyes.  Best if they are all one of a kind please

Supplies and tools list
1. Peg eyes--I love them and can never have enough. I am especially looking for large (quarter sized-ish and up) ones. Extra points for clear ones (I can paint them colors then). Taxidermy eyes are also acceptable. I have way too many googly eyes though, so I only want those if they sew on or are glow in the dark
2. Glow in the dark powder--You can mix it into any base (glue, paint, etc.) and make your own glow in the dark stuff.
3. Road kill bottle caps--by this I mean bottle caps that have been squished by cars. Sometimes they are completely flat, sometimes they are just a bit squished, but I love them all equally. Please wash them before mailing. I would also be happy with hand squished ones if anyone wants to smack normal ones up a bit. I have plenty of unsquished ones though.
4. Fake fur--Anything really. Vintage stuff is nice, because it is better made then a lot of the stuff you can find now. All colors accepted
5. LED's--They can be scavenged from toys and such. Blue, green, clear, and orange preferred over red.
6. Bits and Bobs--Those wee kind of things that fall to the back of desk drawers and such. A little bit of filigree that fell off of a necklace, a wee light bulb too small to light anything, stamps, tokens, watch parts etc.. Anything odd and small
7. Origami papers
8. Interesting brads/studs.  I have a ton of the traditional domed, triangular studs, but there are a bunch of really interesting not regular studs out there.  All brads received happily
9. This is going to sound a bit odd...paint covered wooden stir sticks in bold bright interesting colors.  No white, beige, or other dreary colors please....I don't think of browns as dreary
10. Large grommets. Anything larger then the size that most grommets are. I prefer silver finish to gold, but gold would still be better than nothing. Extra points if you can find colored ones. I don't need the application tool, but feel free to send it along if it is easy
11. I really, really want one of those Japanese food cutting tools that makes vegetables into long strings so you can eat them like noodles.
Like this: http://www.dawkshops.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=131 Another style would be fine, and I don't expect anyone to buy this, but maybe someone has one they aren't interested in.
12. Permanent acid-free felt pens. I use all kinds, but I am looking for the acid-free ones mostly.
13. Smallish tins with hinged lids. I'm thinking larger than Altoids, I have a ton of those.
14. Glue sticks for glue guns. I have 2 guns, so either the ones about the size of your pinky or the tiny ones that are oval shaped (low heat) are great. I just want the clear ones please. My newest craft can use as many as six sticks at a time
15. Surprise me. I often don't know I need something until I own it.
16. Martha Stewart craft paint. I love this paint!
17. Wool roving (I almost forgot that part )

Extras
Chocolate
Candy (Leoman heads are my favo)

I claim Oyhana for "in a jar recipes" and "fiber"

claimed/in transit/received  2/0/1

My name is Lisa I am 28 and live in Pitt Meadows, BC with my 3 month old daughter, Adalia.  I am currently on maternity leave but I have a job doing data entry for CP Rail.  I love to spin yarn, knit, embroider, sew and do many more crafts.  My top three favorite colors are teal, dark purple and mustard yellow.  Some of my favorite patterns are vintage florals, polka dots, plaid, and damask.  I am a big fan of "french country" decorating style, to give you an idea of my color/pattern taste (though no baby pink please, I've had enough of that recently)  I have no allergies and have 2 cats and a rabbit.

There is lots of inspiration on my pintrest (my wist is kind of old) which is linked at the bottom of my post or in my profile

Howdy!  I'm claiming  for....some..thing.....It sort of depends on which supplies I can find first Grin

1-0-0
