Hey!

It's been forever since I've posted here on Craftster, not that I haven't been sewing constantly over the last few months. I just wanted to get some opinions on a dress I made for my school's semi formal dance a little while ago! This dress was a very last minute sort of project, but I was very happy with the results.  Smiley

Unfortunately this is the only photo I can find from when I was making the dress, but maybe I'll stumble across a few more later! This is the top before I added the "skirt". I also made another separate petal/skirt that you can just see in the next picture. I do kind of wish I had made it more "semi-formal" but I guess super short skin tight dresses that I mostly saw at the dance aren't quite my cup of tea  Tongue

This is at the dance  Smiley I had a lot of compliments from friends when they first saw it, and quite a few more when they heard I had made it! Thank you for looking and I appreciate any comments!

Happy crafting,
Fluergirl1

You look beautiful in your dress.  Very nicely done!!  I agree with your opinion on short, tight dresses.  This is very tasteful in addition to being pretty and flattering.  You've got class, gal!  It's a good thing to have and no one can "give" it to you or teach it to you - you just have to HAVE it, and you do!!    Cheesy

I hear you on the skin-tight foof-revealing dresses. Being 5'10'' makes it even worse. There's a fabulous quote, although I can't for the life of me remember who its attributed to; "dresses should be tight enough to show you're a woman, but loose enough to show you're a lady".
Anyway, I got sidetracked. That is one beautiful dress you made there lady. Any chance of a full-length picture? Also, I love the colour on you, so pretty...
