Okay. So, this is my first REAL post here on Craftster. I've been a lurker for a LONG time, showing my family the images of all the things that I've loved, admiring the immense creativity of all of you, and thinking, "gee, someday I'll join when I think I have something worthy"! Well I guess my family finally got fed up, because as I was making this bag I was truly HOUNDED about joining the site so I could post it when I was done. So, I joined. I made a few comments of admiration on others' works, asked a couple of questions and that's been about it. So when I finished the bag, I took the requisite pictures and they've been sitting on my phone ever since. So then I hear MORE hounding about "joined the site, made the bag, took the pictures and whataya do? You don't post them!" Got tired of that...so here they finally are!!

This is my first ever lined crochet bag. I've made several before, but just never lined them. Primary reason for trying it is because I absolutely despise everything falling to the bottom of a bag and having to dig for it. With a liner, I can have all the pockets I want and nothing gets lost in the pit! I also like a little flexibility in carrying a bag. Sometimes I like it cross body if we're just going to the grocery or whatnot, but if we're going to be walking a lot (like at an outdoor market or festival) then I prefer a backpack. With the way I did the straps on this one, it's convertible! Yay! So without further adieu (not to mention hounding!).

The inside pockets! Lots of organization!!

And the convertible straps!

I didn't use a pattern as I have no patience to read them and just wing it! I used Sugar 'n Cream cotton yarn and it's lined and pocketed in leftover felt I used to make poodle skirts for my daughter! And THAT, my new friends, should quiet the hounds!!

Comments and critiques most welcome!! Have a great one!!

I love this bag - your work is awesome!  Now that you've posted a project - join in some swaps!  Really beautiful work on this bag and the strap(s) is/are CLEVER!   Cheesy Cool

Thanks so much fiddlegirl8! I've really thought about getting into swaps but will have to wait a while longer. I have several projects in the works for my daughter's prom and graduation so I will have to wait until mid summer probably. So much to do, so little time!  Wink

My inner OCD persona is mooning over the interior of the bag. So practical! I like the wonky design of the flap, but I'm not too big a fan of the colours. The teal and lime are nice, but I'm not big on white and pink. Still: nice work!

What a great job.  I love all the interior pockets and also the yarn you used.

Thanks Naantje and kayemc! Yeah, it was my OCD that drove the design!! Also not a big fan of pink actually but felt it needed a little something extra and yellow was out! And it's not a true white but more a natural/off white shade...less apt to get quite so dirty!

Thanks again!
