Long ago in the IYP 13 (yes  2 1/2 years ago...seems like yesterday hehe) I made corduroy cat an altered cabinet of curiosities.  I wanted to do it in a random sort of way instead of a divided cabinent, which kind of goes with altering random pieces of junk in my mind Smiley  For the base I used a 8 x 10 wooden box lid filled with assorted vintage bits and pieces out of my stash. The inside of the box was already lined with velvet so I added the cover of an old school speller as the base.

The top portion includes a various rusty hinges, a brass bell, old tins, mousetrap base, plastic baby...  The rusted can lid holds the "avitrix" and the aspirin tin has the best "arid" heart shaped rusty bottle cap Grin   The other tin is collaged with the "stewardess"

The bottom portion has a verdirgris blown out real egg shell with a rusted porcelain doll hand inside an old mason jar ring lid; a crusty "nirvana" paint brush (I have a very bad habit of leaving my paint brushes in water until they fall apart) and an amazing old bottle of "forbidden knowledge"...I don't know what it held in its lifetime but it had a gorgeous patina inside!  And a rusty bottlecap I picked up in the desert outside of Las Vegas....yes I am that obsessive that I know where most of my rusty bottlecap collection came from.

Wow!! What a fantastic collection of curious goodies! You are a magician at telling stories with rusty bottle caps and doll arms.

This is gorgeous! I'm so glad you posted it, because I didn't get the chance to see it first time around. I love all the wonderful items you placed inside!

I can't walk by a rusty bottlecap either, but I can't claim to know where all mine came from. Cheesy
