I made this Princess and the Pea play set for Dharma Rebels daughter in an IYP swap.  The matresses are simply little pillows with a bit of stitching to help hold them flat.  The one has a wee green bead attached to it, to be the pea.  I made sure it wasn't going anywhere by sewing it on with at least 50(maybe that's an exageration... it was more then was called for anyway) stitches of double thread.  The princess is needle felted.  No face was added, a la Waldorf style.
