So I know this is a long shot but is there anything remotly crafty happenings in Wichita Falls that don't involve old ladys making lamps out of cowboy boots? My dad lives there and I'm always bored out of my mind when I go, so are there any say knitting circles, classes of any kind, craftalongs etc.

I hate to bring up an old topic so feel free to yell at me if I shouldn't be doing this!! Probably a bad spot to make my first post as well. haha.

Anyways. I moved from NY here to Wichita Falls a little over a year ago and i'm having a horrible time as well finding craft fairs and such around here. So even though I don't have an answer for the original poster, I would love to ask the same question and know if anyone else does!

My grandparents live near WF.  Last time I visited I found this great "little" scrapbook shop not too far from the mall.  They had tons of paper, die cuts, stickers, ribbons, etc.  If you like to crop you should try to find this place.  It's in the phone book under scrapbooking or craft supplies.  Sorry I can't remember the name!

Yeah. Scrapbook and Such i think is the place you're talking about. Buuuutttt many a people there are WAY too into it. As in, if you don't take scrapbooking seriously as a religion then they don't want much to do with you. And when it comes to doing that, i'm more into making my own decorations for them and such. Thank you for the idea though!

Ahhhh I live in Wichita Falls, and I recently found out about a place called the Yarn Palette. It's on, eh, 9th or 10th street right off of Kemp. People are always in there knitting and crocheting, and there is a ton of yarn, needles, pattern books, etc.

It's probably my favorite place in town now Smiley

This post was so long ago, I'm sorry I didn't see it until now.

Please let me know if any of you guys read it Smiley

Yeeeah, sorry to bump an old thread, but is the Yarn Palette still in business? I've driven past there on occasion and know where it is, but it looks rather like the sign's falling apart. I didn't know if that was due to abandonment or just because it's old.
