Originally I sort of copied a RTW knit dress for this pattern and it has evolved over time.

All of these are from the same pattern - I just changed lengths, sleeves etc.

For more views and info see my blogpost -> http://tigergirladventures.blogspot.com/2012/04/my-knit-dress-tnt.html

EDIT: I forgot that I also made this nightmare dress with this pattern.

The post for it -> http://tigergirladventures.blogspot.com/2012/03/blue-slinky-knit-dress-self-drafted.html

Great pattern! This is also my favourite style of dress and I know how great they can feel on.

Wicked cute. Is it a commercial pattern, one you found online or something self-drafted? I keep searching for good basic patterns I can play around with. I found one that works for wovens, but I need one for knits. I actually kind of love the "nightmare" dress, although I think I'd probably shorten it to a mini and rock it with thick tights and boots if it were me... Also, is that Boston in the first pic?

No, I kind of copied a dress I already had (you know, laid it down and traced around it) - it was shorter, backless and had darts but that was my starting point. In my blog posts I tried to explain how I made the sleeve and nightmare dress patterns from my initial pattern. The nightmare dress is for work and it just doesn't get very cold here in Queensland (and the little bit we do have doesn't last long), so most of what I make has to suit the weather we get for the majority of the year - now that we live here, all of our winter coats and boots sit in the guest room closet being ignored.

The first pic is Sydney harbour ....... interesting that it resembles Boston.

I think the blue one is great, I love how the side panels look. Great job!
