Sewing Accessories Swap Idea (THIS SWAP IS NOW OPEN, LINK BELOW)

A month or two ago, there was a lot of interest in a pin cushion swap and it was decided that susanab and I would organize it, and expand it to include all sorts of sewing accessories.  We are ready to get moving on this now, who's with us??

I would like to start sign-ups in a few days, with partners given a week later, and a 3-week crafting time, putting send-outs near the end of May.

We're thinking of a small, 2-point swap, so you will have your choice of making 2 smalls, or a medium item.  Here's my list of things I can think of that would fall into the category of "sewing accessories"--please help me out, I will add your suggestions to this list.  I've indicated the point value of each item just in case anyone is wondering about that:

pincushion (1 pt.)
needle book (1 pt.)
scissor's fob (1 pt.)

I AM TOTALLY WITH YOU TWO ON A SEWING ACCESSORIES SWAP - I already have some plans for some GREAT sewing accessories - and have purposely NOT made them for the last few swaps I've finished!  Count me as ALL THE WAY INTERESTED AND WANTING TO SIGN UP!  Thanks, Leslie and Susan, AGAIN!  

AND, what about a thread catcher - either a little basket for thread ends (while sewing) or a little felt-like or flannel booklet for holding onto thread ends you cut away while sewing?  I have both types of these - I have seen some really unique designs too.


PS - I know what a chatelaine can be, but how does it relate to sewing accessories?  Maybe it's something that I call by another name.  Isn't a chatelaine a pendant type thing?  OR a mistress of a castle?  Help me on this!

I didn't realize how many definitions fit the word "chatelaine"!!!  This is the type of thing I was thinking about:

I have a simple one made from ribbon, with loops and rings to hold different things, and a small pouch on one end; I've hardly ever used it, but if it was pretty like the one in this link, I might use it more!

I will add the thread catcher to the list (I could probably use one of those, since I always just throw my thread on the floor...!)

YES!! A small swap like this can be squeezed in. I am already in 3 swaps, with one almost done (your package fiddle will be on it's trip to you tomorrow). How can I resist, when I see the cat (again, I'm honoured) staring at me??  Oh and Susan/Leslie swaps are so much fun!!

What can I say, I just love sewing and all the accessories (having difficulties typing that word, thank you spelling check) that are sew related!!
